In-situ chemical oxidation (ISCO) is an increasingly popular technology for treating a wide range of groundwater contaminants. This course will review the basic oxidation chemistry of commonly used oxidants including ozone, permanganate, peroxide, and persulfate with common hydrocarbon and chlorinated hydrocarbon contaminants. In addition, we will review case studies to highlight successful projects and application methods for a variety of geologic settings and contaminant types.
