Presented by U.S. EPA Region 4.
This 4-hour quick course will cover identification and initial response strategies to control the spread of mercury contamination. In EPA’s experience, the first moments of a mercury spill are the most critical – proper isolation reduces cleanup time and costs. We will discuss the nature of mercury spills, understanding vapor concentrations, and best tactics for cleanup. We will practice using PPE, instrumentation, and isolation techniques. Please wear comfortable clothes, bring a water bottle and a snack. Also, please bring a flashlight that you might have on the job.
