40 Hour HAZWOPER
The U.S EPA Region 9 Emergency Response Program, in conjunction with the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection and the Nevada Division of Emergency Management, is offering a 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard (HAZWOPER) class. The HAZWOPER standard applies to five distinct groups of employers and their employees. This includes any employees who are exposed or potentially exposed to hazardous substances -- including hazardous waste -- and who are engaged operations required by a governmental body, whether federal, state, local, or other involving hazardous substances -- that are conducted at uncontrolled hazardous waste sites;
COURSE IS FOR GOVERNMENT ONLY There are no prerequisites for this class; however, class participants will be expected to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) during class exercises and should have an appropriate level of fitness. Participants should bring their own full face air purifying respirator if they have one. All participants will be required to bring a copy of their agencies written Safety and Health Program Plan as described under 29 CFR 1910.120(b)(1).
