EPA Superfund-Only Training Day This half-day training will go over topics pertinent to the job performance of a Community Involvement Coordinator (CIC) and will serve as a refresher course for seasoned CICs. It covers a breadth of topics including Superfund Redevelopment, best practices for a CIC in an emergency response, and general community involvement tools and techniques. The first half of the training will focus on training CICs on the Superfund redevelopment process through a purview of best practices and case studies and a strategic planning session. The second half of the training will focus on general community involvement topics including best practices learned from emergency responses in 2017 and an overview of community involvement resources and techniques for newer CICs. The general overview will include breakout sessions on technical assistance that EPA can provide to communities, general tools and techniques for community engagement, and regional best practices among other topics.
