Class Name:
NARPM Presents...Practical Considerations to Aid the Design and Review of Site-Specific PFAS Evaluation
Class Description:
Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are pervasive contaminants found in soil, sediment, water, and biota across the U.S. and the globe. Understanding potential PFAS concerns at a given site can be challenging based on the diversity of extant PFAS, the multitude of potential PFAS sources, as well as the range of sampling and analytical tools commercially available. This webinar will review PFAS chemistry and the associated practicalities to consider during site sampling/investigation steps throughout the remedial process, including:
- Key study design considerations based on matrix, PFAS of interest, potential sources, and key fate and transport pathways relevant to different matrices
- Discussion of available analytical methods and their appropriateness for different needs
- Review of a typical PFAS lab report from a contracting laboratory, highlighting key details impacting use and comparability
- Summary of advanced forensics approaches for in-depth site assessment
