9:00 AM - 5:00 PM: Presentation - Winning Courtroom Confrontations - Valerie Van Brocklin (http://www.valvanbrocklin.com)

Emphasizing scenario-based training, this instruction puts participants "on the stand" in realistic courtroom situations while also engaging them as "jurors" in evaluating how fellow participants testify. Scenario-based training is introduced by brief lecture. Socratic discussion and interactive Power Point presentation are woven throughout the scenarios. Handout materials support the learning objectives and provide additional resources.

OBJECTIVES: Using instructor’s demonstrations, audio-visual aids, courtroom scenario-based training, interactive discussion and training manual, participants will master techniques of effective courtroom testimony while being challenged and engaged.

Mastery skill areas include:
• The impact of attitude and beliefs on courtroom testimony;
• Juror guidelines for judging witness credibility;
• Writing a report that anticipates effective courtroom testimony;
• How to prepare the government’s attorney;
• Effective direct examination testimony;
• Effective cross examination testimony.

Upon completion, participants will be prepared to win their courtroom confrontations. Participants will retain training materials for their continued use.

February 15, 2012 - EPA Only Day

The EPA only day will also be available via classroom or webinar. There will be a separate email sent for the February 15th webinar registration.

This year we will not be offering an 8 hour health and safety refresher.
